I am delighted to introduce you to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the cornerstone of engineering education.The Department of Mechanical Engineering is committed to enhancing knowledge, fostering critical thinking, and developing the ability to transform information into actionable insight. We aim to equip every student with strong technical and analytical skills to meet the demands of an ever-evolving society.We impart knowledge through a close-knit family of highly competent faculty. The department plays a vital role in the institute by offering core Mechanical Engineering courses as well as Humanities courses for engineering students.Our laboratories are well-established not only to cover the complete syllabus but also to encourage learning beyond it. This approach builds both theoretical depth and practical expertise, and develops skill sets that prepare students to become competent engineers of the future.I would like to conclude with the words of Thomas Friedman who rightly said, “The world is flat. Opportunities are immense. It’s just a question of identifying opportunities and making the best of them.”
