- Python is an interpreted, object-oriented, high-level programming language with dynamic interpretation.
- Its high-level built-in data structures, combined with dynamic typing and dynamic binding, make it very attractive for Rapid Application Development, as well as for use as a scripting or glue language to connect existing components.
- Python has a simple, easy-to-learn syntax that emphasizes readability and therefore reduces the cost of program maintenance.
- Python supports modules and packages, which encourages program modularity and code reuse.
- The Python interpreter and the extensive standard library are available in source or binary form without charge for all major platforms and can be freely distributed.
- Anaconda is a distribution of the Python and R programming languages for scientific computing (data science, machine learning applications, large-scale data processing, predictive analytics, etc.), that aims to simplify package management and deployment.
- The distribution includes data-science packages suitable for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- It is developed and maintained by Anaconda, Inc., which was founded by Peter Wang and Travis Oliphant in 2012.
